Dr. Sam: who am I ?

Today I am an Italo Lebanese dermatologist based in Ravenna, specializied in clinical dermatology and aesthetic medicine. I've always imagined to become a doctor, since my early childhood.Born in Beirut, where I spent the main years of my childhood, life has given me early many trips around the world to follow the diplomatic work that held my father. From Brussels to Cairo from Beirut to Sao Paulo, my adolescence was enriched with international experience as we moved from one country to another one. Beirut, renowned worldwide as the Switzerland of the Middle East, however, remained the trait d'union between one step and the next one ; a true haven of cultural exchange between the western world and the eastern one. After a multilingual school education, the decision to take universitary studies could have a one-way: Medicine. After years of sacrifice, I got the diploma of Medicine at the French University- Saint Joseph University in Beirut. At this point a dilemma arose in my head: fund the future career in hometown or continue the natural course of a hectic life that rendered me a world citizen? Being an adventurous person and always looking for new horizons, I decided to specialize in Dermatology in Italy for the love of Italian culture and dermatological skills. After long months of committees, juries and various exams, I got the recognition of my degree at the Ministry of Health in Rome and won a scholarship for specialization in Dermatology and Venereology, choosing Modena as my adoptive city to reach my goal, achieved by completing five years of training with the maximum score. Happy with my experience of Italian life on one side and recalled by the natural instinct to live by the seaside on the other side, I decided to move to the sunny and generous Romagna, to Ravenna, where i concentrate my clinical and aesthetical professional activity.

Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine

I developed my professional dermatological activities in Ravenna with great love and perseverance. I have dedicated myself to all the skin diseases, the sexually transmitted diseases, the solar damage as a risk factor for the development of skin cancers and to dermatological surgery. The artistic side of my personality has instead found its counterpart in Aesthetic Medicine, dealing with many treatments, including Botox, fillers and much more; it is this branch of medicine that seeks to treat not only the patient's physical wellness but also the moral well-being, a fundamental component for a balanced life.
